Bitcoin Pizza Day Anniversary - two pizzas for 10,000 BTC

On May 22, ten years ago, programmer Laszlo Hanyecz made a historic transaction, buying two pizzas using Bitcoin (BTC). Jeremy “Jercos” Sturdivant, who was 18 at the time, sent him two pizzas for 10,000 BTC.

At the time, the two pizzas cost $ 41, which means the value of a Bitcoin was $ 0.0041.

Currently, the 10,000 BTC received by Sturdivant is worth over $ 91 million.

Bitcoin exchange for pizza is considered to be the first real-world transaction involving a cryptocurrency. Since then, Hanyecz has become an internet celebrity, and on May 22, people around the world celebrate “Bitcoin Pizza Day” in honor of his transaction.
