Bitfenix supports hanging graphics cards with RGB-illuminated holders

Powerful and power-hungry hardware requires substantial cooling. On the graphics card front, this development is clear and in the top segment, it is not uncommon for long models with a cooling solution that occupy three expansion slots, but this also means higher weight. Heavy cards can, for example, result in the PCI Express slot taking a beating when moving a computer, or the circuit boards bending over time.

From a more aesthetic point of view, a heavy graphics card can also sting the eyes, in that the component’s attachment points do not allow a completely horizontal mounting. To remedy the problems, some graphics card holders have recently sought out the market. Now the fan and chassis maker Bitfenix is also entering the field, with the RGB-shiny holder Alchemy 3.0 GPU Bracket.

In November, Deepcool released the graphics card holder GH-01, which is a height-adjustable tower that is placed on the bottom of the chassis. Bitfenix bottling has a different design and instead consists of several parts, where the spine consists of a long and transparent acrylic piece that is screwed into the expansion slots under the graphics card.

The acrylic piece has a number of cut-out holes at different heights and depths, so that the included struts can be mounted in positions that match the graphics card. The package includes three struts in different lengths, which are also made of acrylic. These are then mounted in the horizontal and longer part and have contact with both graphics card and chassis.

The reason for the transparent choice of material is spelled RGB, and specifically applies to addressable lighting compatible with the RGB systems from Asus, Asrock, Gigabyte and MSI. Bitfenix promises that the holder stands for pallets for loads of up to 7.5 kilograms, but emphasizes that the product requires three free expansion slots. At the time of writing, it is unknown when the product will be available and at what price.
