Blockstream announced the launch of Liquid Swap Tool on its platform. This tool allows users to perform atomic swaps of cryptoactive assets in the Bitcoin sidechain Liquid.
About the release of a new instrument stated on Twitter on Blockstream CEO Adam Back (Adam Back). In the recording, he noted:
“We are pleased to announce the release of Liquid Swap Tool. This new tool allows users to perform atomic swaps on the Liquid Network for any released assets, such as L-BTC, tokens, and cryptocurrency assets. GUI & CLI tools are now also available. ”
Atomic swaps are not trustworthy cryptocurrency exchanges between two parties based on a smart contract. Transactions can occur between assets of different blockchains, both inside and outside the chain, and are not dependent on intermediaries such as cryptocurrency exchanges. During this process, users retain full control and ownership of their private keys.
The company also released a configuration guide as part of its developer resource kit to help users master the effective use of the tool.
A new announcement signals the continued development of Liquid Sidechain. In June, it was reported that BitMEX is testing
sidechain to reduce the effect on Bitcoin mempool. In May, Blockstream announced
about launching Liquid Securities’ own platform for issuing tokens, which also works on the sidebar of the Liquid Network.
Last autumn, Blockstream announced the launch of payments through Liquid, and in March, the company released a wallet for sidechain users.
