Borrell counts on more autonomous Russia policy
MOSCOW, September 5 – PRIME. European policy towards Russia will become more autonomous after the end of the period of dependence on Russian energy resources, said the head of EU diplomacy, Josep Borrell.
The Permanent Representative to the European Union spoke about the record profits of Gazprom
According to him, the awareness of the need for “energy independence from Russia” can be considered a positive side of the sanctions regime.
“Once we get rid of this dependency, our strategic autonomy will be significantly strengthened, and our policy towards Russia will no longer be conditioned by this dependency, as it was until the last moment,” Borrell said.
