Chinese Residents Show Increased Interest in Libra Cryptocurrency

In China, cryptocurrency trading is prohibited, as is the Facebook social network, but nevertheless in the country’s largest search engine Weibo the number of queries related to Libra is growing rapidly.

At the moment, Libra is the third most popular search query, and recently a cryptocurrency took the second place at all.

Similar dynamics is also observed in the Google search engine. According to Google Trends, the largest search activity on the keyword “Facebook Libra” was recorded on the day of the announcement of the project on June 18. Now China is in the first place in terms of the popularity of the query, the United States occupies the 33rd line, and Russia – 66.

Interestingly, the search query “Facebook Libra Regulation” is not very popular, although this topic has been actively discussed in various media over the past few weeks. Instead, users are interested in the course of cryptocurrency, which will be launched only next year. Most often, the request “Facebook Libra price” is sent by residents of South Africa, Singapore and Australia.

If we talk about interest in Libra in the Google search engine, then it is still at a negligible level compared to the number of requests related to Bitcoin.
