MOSCOW, August 31 – PRIME. It would be nice to realize the intention of IAEA Director General Rafael Grossi to leave a number of experts at the Zaporizhia NPP, said Vladimir Chizhov, Russia’s permanent representative to the European Union.
IAEA mission arrived in Zaporozhye, Ukrainian Energoatom reported
“Let’s hope that this mission will reach its destination and some Ukrainian provocations will not interfere with this, and it would be very nice if the intention announced by Mr. Grossi to leave some of the experts there so that they continue monitoring on the spot would be realized. This will allow them to see where something is flying from,” the diplomat said on the air of the Rossiya 24 TV channel.
According to him, the European Union showed no signs of readiness for dialogue with Russia. For Europe, the IAEA’s visit is “a way to calm public opinion about a potential nuclear threat,” Chizhov stressed.
