Crypto exchange ranking for the fourth quarter of 2019

CryptoCompare analysis company released the ranking of crypto exchanges for the fourth quarter of 2019. Surprisingly, itBit took first place, surpassing Gemini and Coinbase.

The ranking was made based on factors such as compliance, security level and back-end software. ItBit, Gemini and Coinbase obtained the maximum AA rating.

Coinbase received a low rating in terms of customer support, but ranked best on the “Security” front. UpBit and IDAX have also had terrible scores in terms of customer complaints. Probably because of the UpBit hack last quarter and IDAX Global CEO, which disappeared last year.

Bitfinex climbs the crypto exchange rankings

Bitfinex increased its position by four and reached 7th on the list compared to the previous edition. However, it only ranked above OKEx in terms of legal compliance. The iFinex exchange was the target of several lawsuits last year, most referring to allegations that it used Tether to manipulate cryptocurrency markets.

Kraken, Bitstamp, Liquid, Bitfinex, OKEx, Bitflyer, Okcoin, Luno, Binance and LMAX Digital are the platforms that received the rating A. Poloniex and HuobiGlobal were evaluated with B.

48 of the platforms were reported as “higher level”, because they obtained B-grade or higher ratings. About 27% of the total volume of the last quarter was attributed to these exchanges. However, C-grade exchanges were responsible for 53.5% of the volume of cryptocurrency transactions in the 4th quarter of 2019.
