Czech Republic wants to get capacities in German LNG terminals

PRAGUE, August 29 — PRIME. The Czech Republic is interested in obtaining certain capacities in German LNG terminals, Czech Prime Minister Petr Fiala said on Monday after talks in Prague with German Chancellor Olaf Scholz.

“I informed Mr. Chancellor about the Czech Republic’s interest in obtaining certain capacities in those terminals for liquefied natural gas that will be built in Germany in the near future. Mr. Chancellor expressed his consent. pipelines between our countries,” Fiala said.
At the same time, Fiala said that the gas storage facilities in the Czech Republic were already filled by more than 90%, in addition, Prague won a tender to receive capacities in one of the LNG terminals under construction in the Netherlands.
“The given volumes of gas should be enough for us for the coming winter,” Fiala said.
In addition, the Czech prime minister expressed the opinion that a delay of at least a few months with the closure of the last operating German nuclear power plants would contribute to an increase in the volume of electricity in the European market.
