ZURICH, 27 Sep — PRIME. Denmark will continue to coordinate its actions with the European Union and NATO on the gas leak incident on the Nord Stream 1 and Nord Stream 2 pipelines, said Foreign Minister Yepe Kofod.

The Danish government and its allies are deeply concerned about explosions and gas leaks in the Baltic Sea, Kofod said. According to him, in such an international issue, it is important to maintain close contact to clarify the causes of the incident.

“Today I spoke with several of my fellow Foreign Ministers and we will continue to coordinate actions in the EU and NATO in the coming hours. There are still a few unknowns. However, we know that these incidents are not an accident, but the result of deliberate actions,” — wrote the head of the Danish Foreign Ministry in his Twitter.

He also noted that it is necessary to collect facts and protect against false information.

On Monday, Nord Stream 2 AG reported that on one of the lines of Nord Stream 2 (it was filled with technical gas after construction), an emergency occurred in Danish waters near the island of Bornholm, accompanied by a sharp drop in pressure. The reasons are unknown, an investigation is underway, the company specified. Then Nord Stream AG, the operator of Nord Stream, reported on the pressure drop on both lines. The reasons are also not known.

The work of Nord Stream has been suspended since the end of August due to problems with the repair of Siemens turbines caused by Western sanctions. However, the pipeline remained filled with gas.

According to information from the Danish and Swedish authorities, two gas leaks were discovered at Nord Stream northeast of Bornholm Island and one at Nord Stream 2 southeast of the island.
