Destiny 2 free – SweClockers has performance figures from over 20 graphics cards

One of last year’s big game releases was Destiny 2, the successor to the console-exclusive Destiny. Developer Bungie took the series to PC for the first time, while plenty of news and a fresh story were promised.

The result was, in the end, quite lukewarm, where many enthusiasts felt that Destiny 2 was a step back compared to the first game – especially after the big expansion The Taken King. Stripped systems, less to do and boring storytelling were some points where Bungie was heavily criticized.

A year later, however, Destiny 2 has also matured, much through two smaller and a larger expansion package – Curse of Osiris, Warmind and this autumn’s Forsaken. At the same time, Activision is running a campaign where the basic title itself can be picked up free of charge, of course with the idea of ​​attracting new players to the series.

In connection with that, the discussions around the game have been given new life, also in terms of what hardware is required for a good experience. But, fear not – Destiny 2 has been part of SweClocker’s graphics card tests since the summer, which means that we are already sitting on a lot of great data.

The figures come from SweClocker’s graphics card tests, where the MSI Geforce RTX 2070 Gaming Z and EVGA Geforce RTX 2070 Black were the latest models to be put to the test. Even at the lowest resolution of 1,920 × 1,080 pixels, it is clear that Destiny 2 is not a heavy-duty game. For SweClocker’s loop, even the oldest and slowest models can withstand a level around 60 FPS.

At the top it’s about juicy numbers, enough to make even the 144 Hz lovers happy. It is of course extra important in games like Destiny 2 where it goes quite fast at times, set against slower titles in the style of, for example, strategy games.

With more pixels on the screen at a resolution of 2,560 × 1,440 pixels, it becomes heavier for the graphics cards. Here too, however, the majority of the models provide acceptable values, which is a good starting point for those who might consider turning down the settings a bit.

At the top, there are still high measured values. Players with requirements of over 100 FPS in all situations are likely to need to compromise, but for the vast majority, the performance is quite excellent.

With 4K UHD, the measured values ​​fall further, and only a few cards really keep up with the turns with over 60 FPS on average. This requires a reduced level of detail for players who expect a completely stable frame rate.
