Displayport bug between HTC Vive and Nvidia’s Pascal graphics card identified

Last week, SweClockers reported a problem with the image connection between HTC Vive and graphics cards in the Geforce GTX 1080 and Geforce GTX 1070 families. A bug in Nvidia’s latest graphics card causes the user to not get a picture if the Mini Displayport input on HTC Vive is connected to the Displayport output on the graphics card.

The problem has been known for several weeks but has received more attention as more customers have purchased graphics cards based on Nvidia’s latest graphics card generation Pascal. Nvidia has been silent on the issue, but now a representative of the company has announced in a forum thread that the problem has been identified and will be fixed with a software update later this week.

No more details than that are revealed, and Nvidia’s representative recommends users use an HDMI port on the graphics card until the update is released.
