DNS confirmed the leakage of personal data of customers and employees

MOSCOW, 2 Oct — PRIME. A large Russian electronics network DNS reported a leak of personal data of customers and employees due to a hacker attack, the investigation and elimination of the consequences of the attack are underway.

Earlier, the media reported that a database of DNS clients containing 16.524 million records with information about buyers was made publicly available.

“The DNS company was found to have leaked personal data of customers and employees. We see that the attack was carried out by a group of hackers,” the company said on its website.

It is added that the hacking was carried out from servers located outside the Russian Federation.

An investigation and elimination of the consequences of the attack are now underway.

“We have already found gaps in the protection of our information infrastructure and are working to strengthen information security in the company,” the message explains.
