Durov warned about the dangers of the WhatsApp messenger

MOSCOW, 6 Oct — PRIME. Hackers can take full control of the phone due to vulnerabilities in the WhatsApp messenger, Telegram founder Pavel Durov warned.

The Russians were warned about a new scheme of fraud through instant messengers

“Hackers can get full access to everything that is on the phones of WhatsApp users. This was made possible thanks to a security issue disclosed by WhatsApp itself last week,” he said in his Telegram channel.

According to Durov, to hack a phone, it is enough to send a malicious video or start a video call in the application. At the same time, the messenger is faced with such problems not for the first time.

“You can use any messaging app you like, but stay away from WhatsApp – it’s been a surveillance tool for 13 years,” he concluded.
