ECB says gas prices in Europe will remain extremely high
BRUSSELS, September 8 — PRIME. Market indicators suggest that wholesale gas prices will remain extremely high in the near term, said the head of the European Central Bank (ECB), Christine Lagarde, at a press conference.
The ECB raised the base rate to 1.25% per annum for the first time in history
“Indicators based on the market suggest that oil prices will moderate in the near future, while wholesale gas prices will remain extremely high,” the head of the regulator said.
