Emirati company ADNOC will supply Germany with LNG, ammonia and diesel

CAIRO, Sep 25 – PRIME. Emirati company ADNOC signed an agreement with the German RWE AG for the supply of liquefied natural gas to Germany, WAM reported.

The agreement is part of a package of documents on accelerating energy security (ESIA), signed on Sunday by German Chancellor Olaf Scholz and UAE President Mohammed bin Zayed.

“As part of the agreement, ADNOC will supply LNG, the first delivery is expected at the end of the year. The gas will be used to launch a floating LNG terminal in Brunsbüttel, Germany,” the agency said.

The Emirati company has also booked “further gas deliveries exclusively for German customers in 2023,” according to the English-language version of the message.

In addition, ADNOC will supply 250 thousand tons of diesel per month in 2023, while in September the first direct delivery of diesel to Germany from the UAE was made. The Emirati company will also supply a trial batch of low-carbon ammonia.

As part of the agreements, the energy company Masdar will actively seek opportunities in the wind energy markets of the North and Baltic Seas in Germany, where it is possible to produce up to 10,000 gigawatts of renewable energy, the agency notes.
