EU countries will not support “gas price ceiling”, source said
BRUSSELS, September 8 — PRIME. Most EU states are now unlikely to support the idea of setting a price limit on Russian gas imports, a source in the EU told reporters.
ECB says gas prices in Europe will remain extremely high
“There are different opinions. I don’t think there is a majority of member countries that would now support this option, because everyone should understand what kind of impact such a measure could have,” the source said.
On Friday, an extraordinary council of EU energy ministers will be held, where, as expected, the issue of limiting prices for Russian pipeline gas will be discussed.
