MOSCOW, 7 Oct – PRIME. The European Union is “bleeding slowly” because of the sanctions against Russia, the authorities must change the erroneous sanctions policy. Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban said.
“The sanctions have not justified the hopes placed on them … Europe is slowly bleeding, while Russia is making good money in the meantime. It is clear that the erroneous sanctions policy of Brussels needs to be changed!” he wrote on social media.
According to the prime minister, the EU countries discussed at an informal meeting the issues of providing the region with gas and electricity.
The first meeting of the leaders of the European Political Community takes place on Thursday in Prague with the participation of the leaders of the EU and non-EU countries.
He stressed that Hungary “won back” exemption from the oil embargo and sanctions on other energy resources. However, rising commodity prices are a problem for the country, Orban said.
