First LPDDR5X validation completed. Micron and MediaTek in the lead

MediaTek and Micron have started work on the new SoC Dimensity 9000 5G and an equally new memory standard. Thanks to this, the first LPDDR5X validation has just taken place and thanks to this we know that the Dimensity 9000 will be the first SoC with support for LPDDR5X memory.

The flagship MediaTek Dimensity 9000 will reach for next-generation memory, i.e. the first LPDDR5X validation

Micron is the first to test and validate the fastest, most advanced mobile memory in the industry. It recently delivered MediaTek its first batch of LPDDR5X samples built on the 1α (1-alpha) manufacturing process. This next-generation memory allows us to take the performance of the flagship SoCs to an even higher level and its first validation took place quite quickly as JEDEC outlined the official LPDDR5X standard.

Compared to LPDDR5, the LPDDR5X standard offers higher bandwidth and speed for even better communication and 5G performance while maintaining the desired energy savings in the mobile market. Samples with data rates of up to 7.5 Gb / s and 8.533 Gb / s have been validated. It’s worth pointing out here that these peak LPDDR5X speeds of 8.533 Gb / s deliver up to 33% faster performance than the previous generation LPDDR5.
