Follow AMD’s press conference from CES 2021

The digital edition of CES 2021 is underway and “in place” are the big dragons in the world of technology. Next in line is AMD, which starts live at 17:00 live on its press conference. The stage is taken by CEO Lisa Su, who will present “the vision for future research, education, work, entertainment and gaming” with new announcements in processors and graphics.

There is much to suggest that AMD presents the Ryzen 5000 series “Cezanne”, which follows up the Ryzen 4000 “Renoir” in laptops. The news here will be a transition from the architecture Zen 2 to Zen 3, which is expected to provide both higher performance and energy efficiency in laptops. Many enthusiasts also hope that Cezanne will be released for desktop use, something that did not happen with Renoir, which is still exclusively built-in computers.

New graphics cards are also being teased and tassled. In such cases, it should be a Radeon RX 6700 series, which takes the architecture RDNA 2 down to the middle class. Early reports suggest that an RX 6700 XT will have 2,560 stream processors, ie the same number as for the previous flagship RX 5700 XT.
