PARIS, 31 Aug – PRIME. Nuclear power production in France is at a “historically low” level, it is urgent to return the shutdown reactors to work. This was stated by the President of the French Committee for the Regulation of Energy (CRE) Emmanuelle Vargon.

Carrefour CEO: inflation forces the French to count every cent
“Now we are at a historically low level (nuclear energy generation), because now we are talking about the production of 280-300 TW/h, while we usually generated more than 430 TW/h. This is very little, in 2023 there should be more, but the restart of these reactors is a very important task in terms of ensuring the sovereignty of our state,” she said on the air of the LCI TV channel on Wednesday.
So far, 32 out of 56 nuclear reactors in France have been shut down for various reasons.
It was previously reported that the French energy company EDF has postponed the restart of four of the 12 nuclear reactors that were shut down due to corrosion problems discovered by the French Nuclear Safety Agency (ASN) in May.
