Galaxy confirms Nvidia’s crypto lock in new Geforce RTX 3000 cards

The lack of components continues to hold an iron grip on upgrade-hungry enthusiasts, who in the graphics card turn face competition from players who use graphics cards to break cryptocurrency. However, Nvidia is actively working to drive crypto enthusiasts towards the dedicated one Crypto Mining Processorseries (CMP), by providing newly produced Geforce RTX 3000 cards with graphics circuits that require miningrestrictive drivers.

Galax now confirms that the new circuits are finding their way into actual products, by uncovering the Geforce RTX 3080 and RTX 3070 with the discreet “FG” extension, which currently has an unknown meaning. In the accompanying specification sheets, on the other hand, “LHR” appears – a short form for “Lower Hash Rate”. The company thus does not hit the big drum to show lower miningperformance, but the increase shows that in any case it is not a pure guessing game that awaits the buyer with cryptocurrency breaking in the binoculars.

Along with the specifications, Galax presents the approximate hashrate which applies with the “LHR” cards in the case of breaking Ethereum. Geforce RTX 3070 clocks in at 25 MH / s and RTX 3080 stays at 43 MH / s, which in round slings is just over halving the levels that Betterhash, among others, believes that the unlimited cards can handle.

It remains to be seen whether more third-party manufacturers will choose to mark when the new circuits make their debut in graphics cards, but also if Galaxy’s competitors choose to make the marking clearer. In addition, the future will show if Nvidia’s new limitation holds tight, or if a piano tramp in the style of the published beta driver for Geforce RTX 3060 is repeated.
