Galaxy unveils compact Geforce GTX 1070

Compact computer systems are becoming more common, a trend that has been driven in part by enthusiasts wanting to build smaller but which has also been made possible by more energy-efficient hardware. Therefore, not everyone cheers when Nvidia’s and AMD’s partners make graphics cards with giant cooling solutions.

During the GEC 2016 event in China, Nvidia’s partner manufacturer Galax took the stage and showed a really compact variant of the Geforce GTX 1070. It is a solution that takes up only one expansion space, a trend break against other models that usually take up two and sometimes up to three pieces.

Galaxy does not go into further details such as clock frequencies. What is shown in the pictures is a compact cooling flange in copper that is cooled by a single radial fan, which is covered by a cooling hood with an “industrial design”.

The Galaxy Geforce GTX 1070 in a compact version will be launched sometime in 2017, but what the model will get for the price tag and whether it will find out outside the Chinese market is not yet known.
