Gas interconnector Greece-Bulgaria will be launched on October 1
MOSCOW, 19 Sep — PRIME. The gas interconnector Greece-Bulgaria (IGB) will be put into operation on October 1, BNT TV channel reports with reference to the press service of Bulgarian President Rumen Radev.
Greece has reduced gas consumption in recent months
According to the statement, the interconnector will be launched at the same time as the official ceremony in Sofia. As expected, it will be visited by the President of North Macedonia Stevo Pendarovsky, other heads of the countries of the region, as well as the head of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen.
The IGB interconnector is a branch of the Trans Adriatic Gas Pipeline (TAP) and is designed to transport Azerbaijani gas from Greece to Bulgaria.
