Gazprom boosts supplies to China, Miller says

MOSCOW, 31 Aug – PRIME. Gazprom continues to increase gas supplies to China via the Power of Siberia gas pipeline, with an increase of 60% over the eight months of 2022. This was announced by the chairman of the board of the company Alexey Miller.

“Simultaneously with the work that we are doing on the domestic market, we are consistently increasing supplies via the Power of Siberia gas pipeline to China. And this year, we have several times updated the record for daily gas supplies, in excess of contractual obligations for daily contractual quantities. gas supplies to the Chinese market in eight months of 2022 increased by 60% compared to 2021,” the businessman said at a meeting dedicated to the Day of Oil and Gas Industry Workers.

Miller added that Gazprom will fulfill all contractual obligations for 2023 to increase gas supplies to China.

It is noted that the first deliveries to China via the Power of Siberia gas pipeline began at the end of 2019 and amounted to 4.1 billion cubic meters in 2020, and increased by 2.5 times to 10.4 billion cubic meters the following year. As the project progresses, it is planned to annually increase the volume of deliveries until reaching the design annual capacity of 38 billion cubic meters by 2025.
