Gazprom LNG Technologies to invest in construction of small LNG plants

MOSCOW, 21 Sep — PRIME. Gazprom LNG Technologies, the operator of projects for small-scale production of liquefied natural gas, plans to invest 130 billion rubles in the construction of 22 plants in the next two or three years, said Alexei Kakhidze, chairman of the company’s board of directors.

“In the region of 130 billion, this is about 22 plants, they should be built in two or three years,” Kakhidze answered a question from journalists about the amount of investments in the near future within the framework of the Industrial and Energy Forum (TNF).

“We are counting on a large program, but it depends on assistance: some kind of subsidies, on understanding financial institutions. Financial institutions do not yet fully trust this business, unfortunately, as they would like. These are banks and other structures,” he added.

Gazprom LNG Technologies is a specialized company within the Gazprom Group, appointed as a single operator for the implementation of low-tonnage liquefied natural gas production projects of Gazprom PJSC.
