Gazprom Neft and Rosprirodnadzor will launch an inspection service using AR

MOSCOW, 26 Sep — PRIME. Rosprirodnadzor, together with PJSC Gazprom Neft, is launching a service for remote inspections using augmented reality technology, Head of the Department Svetlana Radionova said in her Telegram channel.

“Together with PJSC Gazprom Neft, we are launching a service for remote inspections with augmented reality technology. The platform creates a single digital space where service inspectors can interact with specialists from enterprises located at an industrial facility,” the message says.

According to Radionova, test inspections by Rosprirodnadzor using AR technology have already been carried out at the wells of the Yagodnoye oil field in the Orenburg region. In the future, the Gazprom Neft producing enterprises from the regions of Western Siberia, as well as four more energy companies, will join the platform.

“By the end of the year, about a hundred employees of Rosprirodnadzor will be able to undergo technological training at the Gazprom Neft centers. This will allow inspectors of the federal department to transfer part of the field work to a remote format using new digital tools with augmented reality headsets,” Gazprom Neft said.

“I believe that the transition to digital services will simplify approvals for business, but at the same time maintain strict control over compliance with environmental legislation. As a result, more industrial facilities will be put into operation every year. This is a tangible contribution to the future infrastructure breakthrough, which is so important for the country,” Radionova added.

The press service of Rosprirodnadzor specified RIA Novosti that we are talking about inspections in the future. In March, according to a decree of the Russian government, scheduled inspections of the department were suspended until the end of the year.
