New graphics cards are in the works and as usual there is no shortage of unconfirmed information, rumors and speculation. Now, however, pictures are published that are said to represent Nvidia’s upcoming flagship in the Geforce GTX 700 series.
Geforce GTX 700 series
model | GPU | Memory | Replaces | Launched |

Geforce GTX 780 | GK110 | 3 GB | GTX 680 | May |
Geforce GTX 770 | GK104 | 2 GB | GTX 670 | may June |
Geforce GTX 760 Ti | GK104 | 2 GB | GTX 660 Ti | the summer |
On the Chinese forum Chiphell, “lylyly2” shows two graphics cards marked with Geforce GTX 780 and GTX 770, but without giving any further details. The two newcomers are apparently reference models with a cooler almost identical to the one used on the Geforce GTX Titan. It includes a fan at the rear edge and a transparent window over the flanges.
According to previous information, the Geforce GTX 780 contains a scaled-down variant of the GK110 graphics processor with 3 GB of memory and a 384-bit memory bus. This includes Nvidia paving the way for partner manufacturers to develop their own, tailor-made models. However, it is unclear whether graphics cards with more memory are also on the agenda.
The cousin Geforce GTX 770 will be based on GK104, which is recognized from Geforce GTX 680, among other things, with 256-bit memory bus and 2 or 4 GB memory. First out is the Geforce GTX 780, which launches on May 23. The Geforce GTX 770 follows shortly thereafter.
