Geforce RTX 3080 rolls too full in the test lab – but the review embargo is pushed forward

Update 2020-09-12: Nvidia has now announced that the embargo date will be changed for Geforce RTX 3080, this due to shipping problems of cards to reviewers. The new date to remember will instead be September 16 at 15:00.

After its event on September 1, it was clear that Nvidia will launch the next generation graphics card in the Geforce RTX 3000 series before the end of the month. First out will be the Geforce RTX 3080, which will go on sale on September 17. According to the company, the model will offer up to doubled performance compared to the 2018 Geforce RTX 2080 for the same price tag of 699 USD.

Now the big embargo gods have given us permission to show off Nvidia’s Founders Edition variant of the Geforce RTX 3080, but perhaps above all to reveal the date on which the full-scale review will be published. So pick up the filofax and call on September 14 at 15:00, because then the editors press the big red button and publish an in-depth test of the new graphics card!
