GeForce RTX 4080, 23 Gbps GDDR6X memory for the new NVIDIA card?

New rumors emerge about technical specifications of the GeForce RTX 4080one of the new flagships expected to make up the next generation of NVIDIA GPUs, debuting during the fourth quarter of this year.

According to leaker Kopite7kimi, the GeForce RTX 4080 could come on the market with one even faster GDDR6X memory than previously provided: 23 instead of 21 Gbps. The leaker also indicates, by virtue of this change, a value of 340W as regards the “Total Board Power”, higher than the 320W indicated a few weeks ago.

The rest of the technical specifications, however, do not change this time: the GeForce RTX 4080 should be based on a AD103 GPU with 9728 CUDA core and 16 GB of memory on a 256-bit bus.

It is clear that NVIDIA is finalizing the specifications and optimizing the design of the first cards of the GeForce RTX 4000 family in anticipation of the announcement that will probably arrive in late September, with the debut of at least one model in October. It is not to be excluded that there will be rumors of further tweaks in the course of the next few weeks, also with regard to the other two cards that should arrive this year, the RTX 4090 and the RTX 4070.
