Gigabyte recalls AORUS Z690I ULTRA motherboards due to PCIe 4.0 issues

Last week, Gigabyte announced that it will be recalling its Z690I AORUS ULTRA motherboards. The company said it listened to customer reports and, in addition to identifying the problem, also offered users alternative motherboards to solve the problem.

According to the statement, the problems have been caused by system instabilities and WHEA PCIe errors, when cards are connected to GPUs with PCIe Gen4. Gigabyte further stated that changing the BIOS settings from PCIe Gen4 to Gen3 would resolve the issues. But for those who prefer it, exchange or return options are also available.

“For Z690I AORUS ULTRA motherboard users who are experiencing instability issues, GIGABYTE offers special program to upgrade motherboard to Z690I AORUS ULTRA PLUS or equivalent models, or users can also request a refund, ”clarifies the statement.

From May 10, 2022 to November 30, 2022, owners of this model will be able to register for the program through the official link and contact Gigabyte. The brand requires certain model information, such as the serial number, as well as proof of purchase.
