Gigabyte shows Waterforce with three Geforce GTX 780 Ti on Computex

For a few years now, closed water cooling systems have been popular with home builders and enthusiasts looking for low temperature and noise levels. While ready-made solutions for processor coolers account for the majority of the market, more and more people have started to find out about graphics cards, and here Gigabyte is taking a real turn.

Under Computex, the company presents Waterforce, which consists of a huge external module that is placed on top of the chassis. This houses a radiator as well as fans, reservoirs, pumps and ports for the hoses for each individual graphics card. The water then rushes through the hoses that go through a hub that takes up a 5.25-inch space.

At the front edge of the external module is a display, which shows the temperature of the water for each graphics card, as well as the speed of pumps and fans. Below this are several controls for switching between predefined modes or for manually adjusting the cooling capacity and sound level.

Waterforce does not only consist of a complete and complete water cooling package, but Gigabyte intends to sell the concept together with three Geforce GTX 780 Ti. The graphics cards have 2,880 CUDA cores clocked at 1,085/1,150 MHz at base respective turbo, up from regular 876/928 MHz. This includes 3 GB of GDDR5 in the standard frequency 7,000 MHz.

Gigabyte intends to release Waterforce with the associated graphics cards during the third quarter of the year and as expected, it will not be a cheap piece. The price is expected to be around 3,000 dollars, corresponding to 25,000 kronor including VAT.
