Gigabytes of water-cooled Geforce GTX 980 Waterforce Tri-SLI costs SEK 29,995

After demonstrating the Waterforce concept at Computex 2014, Gigabyte recently upgraded the water cooling package from three Geforce GTX 780 Ti to GTX 980, where higher performance and more manageable cooling are accompanied by an oh so important detail – store availability.

Last week’s announcement is now followed by the product being listed in the store and unsurprisingly, the Gigabyte GV-N980X3WA-4GD will not be a cheap piece, with a price tag of a breathtaking SEK 29,995 at Komplett. This is around SEK 12,000–13,000 more than what three Geforce GTX 980s from any partner manufacturer cost.

The graphics cards are cooled by solid water blocks connected to individual radiators in the size class 120 millimeters with associated fans, which are housed in a detached dwelling intended to be placed on top of the computer chassis. The main unit also has a display and knobs to individually adjust the fan and pump speed and read important values such as temperatures.

In addition, all graphics cards are factory overclocked to 1,228/1,329 MHz at base and boost, respectively, but its 4 GB of GDDR5 memory remains at the reference value of 7.0 GHz. Thanks to “hand-picked” circuits, however, there should be significantly larger turning space than that on both parts.
