Google Chrome browser is waiting for a big update

Google is preparing another update for its proprietary browser in the near future. Some features are already available for beta testing to everyone.

As it became known, the main innovation of the upcoming stable release of Google Chrome 93 will be a special sidebar for quick access to bookmarks and reading list, where users can save web pages with important information to keep at hand.

A similar add-on has already been implemented in the popular “apple” browser Safari and users really liked it. Now fans of Google Chrome will also be able to use it.

In order to add a web page you like to the reading list, you just need to click on the special icon with an asterisk to the right of the address bar and select the “Add to reading list” option in the menu that opens. After reading unnecessary material, you can quickly remove from the list and turn off the panel itself if you do not need to use it.

You can activate the new option in the experimental functions section. To do this, type chrome: // flags in the search bar and in the list that appears, enable the options: “Reading List”, “Reading List ‘New’ badge promo” and “Side panel”. After that, a browser restart is required.

In addition, the American company, following the example of its closest competitors Mozilla Firefox and Microsoft Edge, decided to add “HTTPS Only” mode to Google Chrome. It will upgrade all unencrypted HTTP connections to the HTTPS standard.

Also, the developers took care of a new security system for checking questionable downloads and add-ons. The browser will more closely monitor all installed extensions that are not trusted in the Chrome store. All suspicious files downloaded from the Internet are pre-checked on the Google server before being downloaded to users’ computers.
