Google online spirit level

Google has implemented a lot of things directly in its search engine, so that you can access them directly in search, without having to enter the results pages. For example, you can write mathematical operations in the search box to see the result, enter words to see their definition, search your cell phone and even generate fun animations by entering things like do a barrel roll O askew. Apparently this online leveler works with the device’s magnetometer, which must be calibrated (there should be apps for this, but I haven’t found them). Not all cell phones have a magnetometer, so if you get an “unsupported device”, your Android may not have it. For example, my Moto G Second Generation (2014) had one, but its successor no longer. My Huawei Y5 2019 apparently doesn’t have either.

Conclution

Obviously, this utility cannot be considered accurate. On my Moto G it worked quite well with horizontally aligned objects, but it showed noticeable unevenness on vertical and flattened surfaces that I checked were level. This can be a matter of calibration or bulges in the chassis that affect metering, side or rear, such as buttons or camera bumps. If you have problems or your device is not compatible, try a bubble level application, which will allow you to calibrate the device and will work without an Internet connection. Choose one that does not require unnecessary permissions. I have installed Bubble Level de Gamma Play .com and it’s been pretty good.
