Government allocates funds for R&D for LNG technologies

MOSCOW, 30 Sep — PRIME. The government of the Russian Federation has allocated 6 billion rubles to finance research and development work on the creation of Russian equipment for liquefying gas, as well as the production of various goods and products based on chemical technologies, the Cabinet of Ministers said in a release.

“At the same time, 2 billion rubles will be directed to the creation of prototypes of equipment for the production of medium and large batches of liquefied natural gas (LNG), and 4 billion – to the development of technologies for the production of chemical products,” the report says.

Among the LNG equipment to be developed and tested by Russian manufacturers are an electrically driven feed gas booster compressor, carbon and stainless steel pipeline components, high capacity process centrifugal pumps and other devices. In total, work will begin on the implementation of 11 such projects in 2022.

“In the future, this will increase the production of liquefied natural gas. According to plans, by 2035, the figures should increase to 80-140 million tons per year,” the Cabinet notes.

In 2022, the implementation of 30 projects in chemical products technologies will begin at the expense of financing. This includes artificial inulin and heat-resistant textile fibers. The country will also launch production of higher fatty alcohols, lactic acid, lysine, citric acid, amino acids and other chemical products.

“With the help of federal funds, automobile tires with a metal-cord frame will be created. They will improve vehicle handling and save fuel consumption. In general, it is planned to launch production of products with a sales volume of at least 12 billion rubles for the allocated 6 billion rubles,” the release says. .

The work will be carried out within the framework of the federal project “Promotion of research and development work in civilian industries.”
