Government Approves Software for Mandatory Preinstallation on Devices

MOSCOW, August 23 – PRIME. The Russian government has approved a list of software (software) from the Russian Federation and the countries of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU), which is mandatory for pre-installation on certain types of equipment from next year, according to a government decree published on the official Internet portal of legal information.

“Approve the attached list of programs for electronic computers, the countries of origin of which are the Russian Federation or other member states of the Eurasian Economic Union, which must be preliminary for certain types of equipment of complex goods in 2023,” the document says.

The list of applications required for pre-installation on smartphones, computers and tablets includes Yandex.Browser, Yandex.Maps, 2GIS, Yandex.Disk, Mail.ru Mail, ICQ, the Marusya voice assistant , Mail.ru News, OK Life, VKontakte, Odnoklassniki, Mir Pay, Government Services, MyOffice Documents, Kaspersky Lab antivirus, LitRes book service.

Yandex.Browser, MyOffice, Kaspersky Labs will be pre-installed on stationary and portable computers, Yandex, Rutube, VK Video, online cinemas Ivi, Premier, KinoPoisk, Wink, Okko, on Smart TV, More TV, Start, Channel One, NTV and Watch applications.

It is noted that the order comes into force on January 1, 2023.
