GrainChain blockchain platform will help in tracking the supply of coffee beans from Honduras

Texas-based startup GrainChain, focused on farmers, will provide its blockchain platform to 12,000 coffee farmers from Honduras.

Getting a certificate of organic food is quite difficult right now – regular inspections are needed to confirm compliance with many standards. Thanks to the GrainChain platform, obtaining a certificate will become easier, but farmers will still need to pass checks and prove compliance with the requirements.

“Our platform provides guarantees of transparency throughout the entire process of growing coffee beans. This helps both farmers and exporters, and also reduces risks for bankers and buyers, ”said GrainChain CEO Luis Macias.

Another interesting opportunity for farmers is to automatically issue loans after receiving product certificates. We are talking about small amounts, but before many farmers could not get a loan at all due to the lack of credit history. Funds are provided by GrainChain partner banks, and you can use them to purchase various agricultural tools.
