How much difference is there between the two?

A performance test recently published by NJ Tech reveals hard data on the Core i3-10105F and Core i3-12100F, two processors in the same range that use different architectures, and belong to different generations.

We have the Core i3-10105F with a Comet Lake-S architecture, with four cores and eight threads and the Core i3-12100F with four cores and eight threads as well, but it has the Golden Cove architecture.

During the performance test, the clear winner was the Core i3-12100F over the Core i3-10105F, both in single-thread and multi-thread. On Cinebench R23 shows that the Core i3-12100F outperforms processors that have more cores and threads, but have lower IPC.

The difference becomes more noticeable when we look at gaming performance.

A test was done on Battlefield 2042, where the Core i3-12100F outperformed the i3-10105F by a lot. It was also tested with Farcry 6, with the same results, a noticeable difference in FPS rate.

The difference in performance between the Intel Core i3-12100F and the Core i3-10105F is so remarkable that it is really hard to believe that they have the same number of cores and threads, however, all the difference in performance is due to the Golden Cove architecture of the first, which greatly improves the IPC performance, one of the highest that Intel has reached to date.

This performance test confirms that upgrading from a Core i3-10105F to a Core i3-12100F is indeed a good option. More if we take into account that the price of the first is about 97 dollars, while the second, the market value is 104 dollars. The difference in price is not much, but in performance, it is noticeable. Likewise, DDR4-compatible motherboards have fairly cheap models, so if you are thinking of changing from a Core i3-10105F to a Core i3-12100F, you would not go far in budget. It’s a good option. Close everywhere.

What do you think of this comparison between the Core i3-12100F and Core i3-10105F processors? You notice the difference, right?
