How to download any ISO of Windows 11 from Microsoft

Microsoft’s Windows 11 operating system is available as an update for Windows 10 systems, provided the system requirements are met. An alternative to upgrading systems directly is to download an ISO image to burn to DVD, create installation media on USB devices, or install Windows 11 in a virtual environment.

Microsoft’s own tool, Media Creation Tool, gives access only to a particular ISO image. Once the next feature update is released, in late 2022, the tool will automatically access that new version as an ISO image, and not the initial version of Windows 11. Sometimes that is not what you want. .

Another thing to note is that internal ISO images are also provided, but not through the media creation tool.

This guide describes three options users have for downloading Microsoft Windows 11 ISO images.

Option 1: the media creation tool

This option works if you want the latest stable Windows 11 ISO image that Microsoft has created. It doesn’t work for any other use case, for example if you want to download the latest Insider build ISO image or a Windows 11 ISO image that Microsoft previously released.

Is that how it works:

Paso 1: Open Microsoft Official Website to Download Windows 11 ISO Images

Paso 2: Select “Download Now” on the page that opens. This downloads the media creation tool to your local system.

Paso 3: Run the media creation tool. Please note that you need to be logged into an administrator account to download the ISO image with the tool.

Paso 4: Accept the license terms and notices.

Paso 5: Uncheck “Use recommended options for this PC” to unlock all languages ​​and editions that you can download with the tool.

Paso 6: Select the desired language and edition using the drop-down menus, p. Ex.

• Language: English (United States)
• Edition: Windows 11

Note that the only edition provided is Windows 11. It includes the Home and Pro editions that you can install later using the ISO.

Select Next.

Paso 7: Select the ISO file on the next screen to download the Windows 11 ISO image to your local system.

Paso 8: Select a directory Save on local system for the ISO image.

Option 2: Use TechBench

The official ISO download option is limited in several respects. You need to run the tool on Windows, you need to log in with an administrator account, and you can only download the latest official Windows 11 stable ISO image that Microsoft provides.

The third-party site TechBench takes care of all of that. It is browser-based, which means that you can access it using any browser or operating system. It does not require special user rights as it is only a file download. Lastly, it gives users access to additional ISO images.

Two ISO images are currently provided for Windows 11, but if Windows 10 is something to go through, you will also be able to download any final feature version as an ISO without losing access to previous ISO image downloads.

Paso 1: Open the TechBench website here.

Step 2: Make the following choices using the site menus:

• Writes: Windows (final)
• Version– Choose the version of Windows 11 you want to download.
• Edition: Select Windows 11 or Windows 11 Home China.
• Idiom: select the desired interface language. Note that you can also change the interface language of Windows 11 later.
• Architecture– Select the desired architecture, typically x64.

Activate the download button once you are done to download the ISO image to your local system. The downloads come from the Microsoft server.

Option 3: Bat Media Creation Tool

MediaCreationTool.bat enhances Microsoft’s own media creation tool. It adds more download options to the tool and includes a few other options, for example to bypass Windows 11 system requirements during installation.

Step 1: Open the official MediaCreationTool.bat file on GitHub. Select the RAW button on the page and use the keyboard shortcut Ctrl-S to save the batch file to your local system. Make sure the file name is MediaCreationTool.bat, not MediaCreationTool.bat.txt.

Step 2: Run the batch file after it has downloaded. Windows may display a SmartScreen warning, which you should ignore by selecting run anyway in the options.

Step 3: Select the desired Windows 11 ISO image that you want to download. Currently, there is only one by default. You can also use the tool to get BETA or DEV builds, as described by the developer:
