How to fix game crashes after PUBG logo appears

PUBG is a massive game and not just in terms of players. It is complex beyond the matches and games that are organized and played every day. On top of that, the game receives regular updates and improvements to keep it up to date. Its basic hardware requirements do not change despite all this.

Game crashes after PUBG logo appears

PUBG is an app and like any app it can crash too. The crash may be the result of a poorly installed or developed update, or it may be a problem with your system. If the game crashes every time you open PUBG and you can’t get past the game logo, try the solutions below.

Update the game

Make sure PUBG is up to date. If the game is not up to date, you will not be able to play it. You may be able to start it, but it will close before you can see a loading screen.

  1. Abre Steam.
  2. Go to the library.
  3. Select PUBG in the left column.
  4. In the right pane, select the Update option.
  5. Wait for the update to download and install.
  6. Once installed, open the game.

Update Steam

Like games, Steam is also an app and is updated regularly. Steam updates don’t normally block games from running, but it’s a good idea to keep it up to date because a game may not run if it detects that your Steam client is out of date.

  1. Abre Steam.
  2. Go to Steam> Check for Updates.
  3. Download the available updates and restart the Steam client.
  4. Open PUBG and it should load.

Check PUBG files

Game files may be corrupted. This can happen when the game is updated, when Steam is updated, or when your operating system is updated, among other things. However, with Steam games, file corruption is quite easy to fix.

  1. Abre Steam.
  2. Go to the library.
  3. Right click on PUBG in the left column and select Properties.
  4. Go to the Local Files tab.
  5. Click Verify integrity of game files.
  6. Let Steam review the files and fix any problems it finds.

Update drivers

PUBG needs a GPU to run smoothly and your GPU needs to run the latest drivers available for it. One reason the game might suddenly stop working is because it was updated, but the GPU drivers were not.

  1. Open Device Manager.
  2. Expand Display adapters.
  3. Right-click on your GPU and select Update Driver from the context menu.
  4. Check for driver updates online and install them.

Note: It may be a good idea to use the Nvidia GeForce Experience application or the AMD Combined Chipset and Radeon Graphics driver installer to install the latest drivers if Device Manager cannot find anything.

Hardware changes

PUBG is not designed to run on low-end systems. It may even have a hard time running on a mid-tier system if the graphics settings are set too high. In this case, some gamers choose to overclock their GPU. Overclocking a GPU is quite common in the gaming community, but it should be done right. Even then, not all games may perform well on an overclocked GPU. If you have recently overclocked your GPU, your new settings may not be suitable for running PUBG. Return it to its factory settings and you should be able to play the game.

Clean install PUBG

If all else fails, the issue can be resolved by reinstalling PUBG. This solution is tedious because you will have to download the game again and it is quite large.

  1. Open the Control Panel.
  2. Go to Programs> Uninstall a program.
  3. Select PUBG and click the Uninstall button.
  4. Once the game is uninstalled, download it again. on Steam.

conclusion

PUBG is a game, but games are, at the end of the day, apps. They are prone to problems like any other app, including crashes. If the game is the only app that crashes, a clean install should fix it. If you are running apps that PUBG may consider cheating, close them and then clean the game installation.
