How to fix Google Chrome not displaying images on Windows PC

Google Chrome is the most widely used web browser. Sometimes when you want to view an image, the browser does not load the required image, but instead displays a broken image icon. Due to this bug, some of the websites become unfeasible and may stop your pace of work.

Google Chrome not loading images can occur due to various reasons such as internet connectivity issues and this can lead to a cached page loading, or just a Chrome setting can block the image. The other common reason may be with the site you are trying to upload the image to or an extension in Google Chrome that is blocking the image. If you are also facing the above-mentioned problem, then try the solutions provided below in this article and solve your problem.

Before moving on to the below noted fixes, make sure to use another browser like Firefox, Opera to open an image and the problem persists, it may be due to your internet connection or your system settings.

Solution 1: check the Show Image option

Step 1: In the search tab of the taskbar, type Internet Options.

Step 2: The Internet Properties The window opens, click the Advanced tab.

Step 3: Scroll down to select Multimedia and see that the Show pictures box is checked. If not, check it and click it’s fine.

Solution 2: delete temporary files

Step 1: in the taskbar search eyelash type Disk cleanup and click on it.

Step 2: select the drive you want to clean (here, Drive (C 🙂 is selected by default).

Step 3: Under the files to delete section, check the box against Temporary files and then click OK to permanently delete the files.

NOTE: Some files are already marked by default, leave them as such.

Solution 3: use incognito mode

Step 1: Click the 3 points present in the right corner of the Chrome browser.

Step 2: Click the New incognito window.

Solution 4: disable extensions in Google Chrome

Just open the web page in the incognito window like in Solution 3 above. If the image loads without any errors, you just need to disable some extensions. To do this,

Step 1: in Chrome Steering bar, writes Chrome: // Extensions and hit Get into.

Step 2: The Extensions page opens.

Paso 3: To switch off the Toggle button to deactivate all assets extensions one after the other.

Solution 5: check Chrome site settings

Step 1: Click the 3 points In the right corner of the Chrome browser, click Settings.

Step 2: Now, click Privacy and security> Site settings.

Step 3: Scroll down to select Images

Step 4: Below Default behavior, click on the radio button present against Sites can display images.

Step 5: Below Custom behavior, make sure you have not blocked any site cannot display images.

Solution 6: check your Java Script settings

Step 1: Click the 3 points In the right corner of the Chrome browser, click Settings.

Step 2: Now, click Privacy and security> Site settings.

Step 3: Scroll down to select JavaScript.

Step 4: Below Default behavior, shift about the radio button against Sites can use JavaScript.

Step 5: Check and see if Chrome can load the images.

Solution 7: clear Chrome’s cache and cookies

Step 1: Click the 3 points In the right corner of the Chrome browser, click Settings.

Step 2: click Privacy and security> Clear browsing data.

Step 3: select the time interval All time from the pop-up window.

Step 4: Select the data you want to erase and click Delete data.

Solution 8: reset Google Chrome

Step 1: in Chrome Steering bar, writes Chrome: // Settings and hit Get into.

Step 2: click Advanced> Reset and clean.

Step 3: click Restore the settings to their original defaults.

Step 4: In the pop-up window that appears, click Reset settings.

Solution 9: rename the Chrome data folder

Step 1: Press Win + R keys together to open the To run Window.

Step 2: Write % LOCALAPPDATA% Google Chrome User Data and hit Get into.

Step 3: Now, log in and rename Chrome’s default data folder. (Here, I am renaming it Chrome1).

Solution 10: update Google Chrome

Step 1: in Chrome Steering bar, writes Chrome: // help and hit Get into.

Step 2: You will see if Chrome is up to date or not. If updates are available, install them.

Solution 11: try using a different DNS server

If all the fixes above don’t help to resolve the image loading issue in Chrome, try using a different DNS server. To change the DNS server on your system, follow the steps below,

Step 1: search View network connections in the Windows search box.

Step 2: now, the right button of the mouse on the asset adapter you’re using (here, I’m using WiFi).

Step 3: click Properties.

Step 4: click Internet Protocol version 4 (TCP / IPv4)> Properties.

Step 5: Below Use the following DNS server addresses, change the Preferred DNS server a 8.8.8.8 Y Alternate DNS server a 8.8.4.4 and click it’s fine.

Step 6: Restart your system and see if the error is gone.
