How to force restart your iPhone 13 Pro – Easy Steps

How to force restart your iPhone 13 Pro

When the iPhone was first released, it changed the way phones were designed. Instead of full keyboards or multiple hard buttons, the layout worked with a single Home button. There were, and still are, hard buttons on the side, but over the years the Home button has been removed as well.

Force restart iPhone 13 Pro

The iPhone 13 Pro is the newest iPhone model (currently) and as such has no home button. In terms of button design and functionality, they have changed quite a bit from the first iPhone to the iPhone 8 models. Until then, the side button on these iPhones could be used to restart an iPhone. Now activates Siri if held down.

How to force restart iPhone 13 Pro

There are two ways to force restart an iPhone 13 Pro; you can go through the Settings app, or you can use the hard buttons on the side of your device.

Method 1: Settings app

The Settings app has a built-in option to restart your iPhone. If the phone’s UI is responsive, this is the easiest method to reset an iPhone.

  1. Open the Settings app.
  2. Go to Generals.
  3. Scroll down and tap Power off.
  4. Use the on-screen slider to turn off iPhone.
  5. Once the phone is off, press and hold the Side/Siri button to turn it on.

Method 2: hard buttons

If your phone’s UI is unresponsive, or slow for any reason, you can use the physical buttons on the side of the device to restart it.

  1. Press the volume up button and release it.
  2. Press the volume down button and release it.
  3. Press and hold the Side/Siri button until you see the power off slider.
  4. Use the power off slider to turn off the phone.
  5. Once the phone is off, press and hold the Side/Siri button to turn it back on.

conclusion

iPhones, or rather iOS does not have a reset option. It will always turn off the iPhone first and then turn it on. If you’ve been using an Android phone, you may be used to having a restart option in the power menu, but iOS doesn’t follow the same approach. There are no other ways to turn off a phone unless you allow the battery to completely drain. If you’re having trouble with your iPhone after taking it in for repair, you may need to check it again. A forced restart may be of little help. For now, it’s best to always take your device to Apple if you want something fixed.
