PUBG is free to play on mobile devices, however if you want to play the game on your PC, you must purchase it. PUBG is available for $ 30 on Steam. The game has been downgraded by as much as 50% in the past and has been free to play on select weekends, but it still has a price tag, meaning you have to purchase the game if you want to play it on your PC.

PUBG is currently a paid game, however as of January 12, 2022, the game will be available for free. If you visit the Steam page for PUBG right now, you will see that you have to buy it, however the developers have a disclaimer saying that the game will be available for free soon.
How to get PUBG for free
If you’ve been putting off buying PUBG for a while and want to get it for free, all you need to do is wait about three weeks from now. On January 12, 2022, the game can be downloaded from Steam at no cost. In the meantime, you can pre-register for the event. Pre-registration is not important. You can always buy the game without registering once it is free.
To pre-register;
- Visit the KRAFTON website.
- Click Login in the upper right.
- Select Sign up at the top right of the login page.
- Create a new account and make sure to activate it.
- Once created, you will sign up for the PUBG free game launch.
If you have already purchased the game, you can try requesting a discount or refund, but it is highly unlikely that you will be able to get the full price back if you have already played. Steam allows users to return a game and buy it again if it has been released recently, but this is not the same case. If you already have PUBG on Steam, you won’t be able to get your money back when the game is free.
Your PUBG account will also be converted to a KRAFTON ID. Make sure to keep an eye out for this when the game changes and transfer your account as soon as the option becomes available. Your progress in the game will not be lost. You can link a KRAFTON ID to your Steam account.
