How to play Timelie on Linux

Timelie is a Single-player Stealth Puzzle Game developed and published by Urnique Studio. The game was developed in Unity and released on Microsoft Windows and Mac OS. This is how you can play it on Linux.

Get Timelie running on Linux

Timelie is native to Windows and Mac OS. However, there was never a Linux version. So if you want to play this video game on Linux, you will have to install the Steam client for Linux.

Instalar Steam

Steam is easy to work with on Linux. However, for the game to work on your Linux PC, you will need to open a terminal window on the desktop. You can open a terminal window on the Linux desktop by pressing Ctrl + Alt + T on the keyboard. Or search for “Terminal” in the application menu and run it that way.

With the terminal window open, you can begin the installation. By following the installation instructions below, get the latest version of Steam up and running on your Linux computer.

Ubuntu

To install Steam on Ubuntu, use the following apt install command below.

sudo apt install steam

Debian

In order for Steam to work on Debian, you will first need to download the latest Steam DEB package from Valve. You can download the package using the wget download command below.

wget https://steamcdn-a.akamaihd.net/client/installer/steam.deb

After downloading the Steam DEB package to your computer, the installation is ready to begin. First, using the dpkg command then set the latest version of Steam.

sudo dpkg -i steam.deb

Once the Steam DEB package is installed on your computer, you will need to use the apt-get install -f command to correct any dependency errors that occurred during installation.

sudo apt-get install -f

Arch Linux

Steam works on Arch Linux, but you will need to enable the “multilib” software repository first. To enable this software repository, open the /etc/pacman.conf file in a text editor (as root).

Once you have opened the text file as root, search for “multilib” and remove the # symbol in front of it. Then remove the # symbols from the lines directly below. Save your edits when you are done and enter the pacman command below.

sudo pacman -Syy

With the multilib software repository enabled, you will be able to install Steam. Then using the pacman command then make the app work.

sudo pacman -S steam

Fedora / OpenSUSE

Using Fedora Linux or OpenSUSE, you can get the Steam application working out of the box with the software repositories included with the system. However, the Flatpak version of Steam works best on these operating systems, so we recommend following them.

Flatpak

To get Steam working through Flatpak, start by installing the latest version of the Flatpak runtime. You can then make the Flatpak runtime work on your system by following our guide on the subject.

After setting the runtime, install Steam using the following commands.

flatpak remote-add --if-not-exists flathub https://flathub.org/repo/flathub.flatpakrepo
flatpak install flathub com.valvesoftware.Steam
