You can connect other Playstation controllers to your PC but the Dualsense has certain improvements to consider.

Once you do, you can use your games from any store without any compatibility error and you can also take advantage of the features of the new playstation controller in games that have support.

How do I properly calibrate my PS5 controller?

To connect and calibrate your Dualsense control on your PC, you will first need a USB type C cable to connect your controller using cables or a USB type C connector for Bluetooth in case your computer does not have a Bluetooth connection. For connect the controller wirelessly, The steps are the following:

  • At control from PS5: press the button with the Playstation logo next to the speakers and the button next to the crosshead for approximately 5 seconds. When the light starts to flash, the controller is ready to connect.

  • Final configuration touches: select on our PC in the Bluetooth devices window Add Device, after waiting for our control to be configured, you will be able to play with it without problems.

What could happen to my control if I don’t calibrate it right?

If you do not perform the calibration correctly, you will have constant errors and a bad response from the controls in the video game. If you use programs of doubtful quality you will not only have problems when playing but also you will be compromising the integrity of your team. That is why it is best to use official methods.

If what you want is to connect generic controllers to your PC using Steam, you will be able to play any game on your computer but you will not be able to use the exclusive features of your Dualsense.

How can I connect my controller and not have to calibrate it so regularly?

If you regularly use your Dualsense to play, it will be quite annoying to have to constantly configure settings while playing and also you will be missing all the functionalities exclusive to the Playstation controller.

If you want to keep all the settings of your remote and make the most of your Dualsense then you must use Steam to link, configure and save changes to your controller.

Use Dualsense in your Steam games

First of all, we must have the Steam launcher installed on our computer. Once the launcher is installed: enter Big Picture mode and from there go to Configuration> Knob setting and click on Playstation Controller Settings.

That way our Dualsense control already will be compatible with all our Steam games and you can also take advantage of all the features of the Dualsense such as resistive triggers and haptic vibration.

Use the Dualsense in your games from other stores

The problem with using stores on PCs other than Steam is that do not have such optimal compatibility like the one in Valve’s store. However, you can use the Steam launcher to play games from other stores using your PS5 controller. To do it, this is the procedure:

We must open the Steam launcher and follow the following steps: go to our library of games on Steam, and at the end of our entire list of games go to option add a product and click on add a non-Steam product.

To add a game we must mark it in a box in the list of games that appears on the screen. If the game does not appear In the list we must look for the game launcher and add it to the list. Once we choose to accept, the game will be added to Steam.

That way, you can play a video game outside of Steam with your Dualsense and take advantage of all its features. The problem with this is that there is a greater probability of having compatibility problems with video games that are outside of Steam.

And that’s how easy it is to configure your Dualsense controller and take advantage of all its features in your PC games. If the exclusive features of your Dualsense do not work in certain games, it is because are not available for them. We also recommend evaluating which version of Windows is best to play.
