How to update apps on your Windows 11 PC

Sometimes when you open any application on your Windows system, it may not open properly or even if it does open, some part of the application may not work properly. This is because applications use the Internet and the back-end application programming interface for various functions to function normally. When any of the latest version of that app is released and if you have not updated your app on your system then you may face such issues. Therefore, it is always better to keep your system and applications up to date. Here in this post we will show you how you can update your apps in Windows 11.

How to update apps on your Windows 11 PC

There are two ways to update your apps on your system. One way is through the Microsoft Store for those apps downloaded from the Microsoft Store and another way is to go to the app’s website. Please review each method explained below.

Method 1: Update apps using the Microsoft Store

Step 1: Open Microsoft Store on your system by pressing Windows key and click Microsoft store.

Step 2: Then select Microsoft Store from the search results as shown below.

Step 3: Click Library option at the bottom of the left menu in the Microsoft Store window as shown below.

Step 4: Then click get updates on the Library page as shown below to get all available updates for apps.

Step 5 – If updates are available, download and install the update for as many apps as you want.

Step 6: Close Microsoft Store.

That’s it. This is how you can update apps using the Microsoft Store.

Method 2: Update from the application website

Apps on your system that are not downloaded and installed from the Microsoft Store cannot be updated through the Microsoft Store. These third party applications that are downloaded from their website must be updated through their website.

Step 1: Open the app on your system.

Step 2: Go to the About or Settings tab in the app.

Step 3 – Check if there is any update available in the About or Settings tab.

Step 4 – If an update is available, update it by following the on-screen instructions.

Step 5: Some apps will not show any available updates in their app settings. So please go to the app download webpage from where you downloaded the app earlier.

Step 6 – Check if any updates have been released, and if there are, go ahead and update them.

That’s it.
