How to hide Whatsapp messages, chats and contacts

How many times have we heard in films and TV series of betrayals between loved ones hidden in a “bad way”, with WhatsApp messages in plain sight, without any real filter to hide them. A smart person or someone who has something to hide for sure no longer uses SMS and avoids Facebook (where everyone knows everything), but could almost certainly use WhatsApp, the most popular messaging app that offers good protection tools to hide an “affair” or a chat that shouldn’t exist.

To protect WhatsApp from prying eyes and hide an affair as it should be we have to act broadly on a series of features of the app and the phone: we have to rename contacts (to make them recognizable), we must turn off notifications (both those visible to the eye and those audio), we must delete messages and photos both incoming and outgoing, activate an access password and finally take advantage of a double space to receive only messages from a SIM dedicated to the affair or secret messages.

1) Change suspicious names

2) Hide and silence notifications

As for the notifications we can set the silent for a single suspicious contact by taking us back to the “i” tab (as seen in the previous chapter) and activating the switch next to the item Disable notifications. In the screen for setting the silent we choose the voice Always and remove the check from the option show notifications.

To turn off notifications of a group chat that you do not want to attract attention, just touch it to open it, then touch the chat title to see the group card and activate the silent, also eliminating notifications.

3) Delete awkward chats and messages

To delete uncomfortable or embarrassing messages from a chat without deleting the entire chat (taking into account that they are easy to find with the search function) the fastest way is to Archive a conversation in Whatsapp: an archived chat remains very hidden in WhatsApp, ending up at the bottom of the conversation list (scrolling down to the end).

Beside archived messages we can also exploit two privacy options to hide last accessed and read receipts, so as to strengthen privacy and make it even easier to hide your intentions.

4) Hide received photos and videos

You can also hide photos and videos of individual chats by opening the conversation, tapping the group title or the person’s name at the top and then using the menu “media visibility“in the information screen. 5) Protect WhatsApp with password or fingerprint

If we really want one total privacy when we use WhatsApp for an affair or a relationship to hide we can protect WhatsApp with login password or fingerprint.

Obviously this method is very effective in hiding the content of messages, ma much less effective at hiding intentions: if the partner finds WhatsApp locked with a password, the suspicions will be very strong, risking to compromise everything.

6) Take advantage of dual SIM and double space

Some Android phones (such as Xiaomi) take advantage of the Dual SIM in a truly innovative way: in fact on these smartphones it is possible to take advantage of the so-called “Double space”, that is a cloned space of the phone in which it is possible to install WhatsApp in a totally separate way from the first app, so as to take advantage of a second SIM to create the account and secretly text. To take advantage of this function, we open the app Settings, let’s open the menu Special features, we press on Second space and then on Activate second space. In the configuration phase you will be asked to set a separate footprint to access the second space, so as to hide it “for good”: in fact, by setting a little used finger (for example the little finger) we can immediately access the second space, leaving the first space accessible only with traditional fingers (index or thumb).

Once the second space has been created, install WhatsApp on it and create an account with one YES secrets, of which no one knows the number: we can thus maintain an affair without generating any suspicion, since the notifications of the second space will be visible only after access (ie only after using the right “finger”). The second WhatsApp does not conflict with the first, since the two spaces cannot be seen and do not communicate: in fact it is like having two separate telephones in one.

Conclusions

Of all the tricks we have shown you to hide WhatsApp messages, chats and contacts, the most effective is certainly that of the second space, since it is very difficult to identify and can only be shown when we deem it appropriate, while maintaining a good level of security. and a good level of privacy (essential for keeping an affair alive).
