How to View and Retrieve Archived Chats in Messenger? – Hidden messages
–
The Facebook platform, both from your computer’s browser and from the mobile application, offers you different features so you can get the most out of it. When we talk about the function of being an instant messaging application, we can say that it allows you to order the messages you receive in your account.
When talking about ordering, we refer to the option that it gives you to be able to archive the chats that you no longer want to have in the main tray. But what if you want to see and get them back? In this development we will explain how to view and retrieve archived chats in Messenger easily.
The conversations that are archived in Messenger are not deleted from the platform, rather, this is done to organize the chats that are no longer recent in your account.
If you are using the Messenger mobile application downloaded to your Android or iPhone mobile, the steps you must follow are very simple and fast. When you are on the main Messenger screen, tap your profile picture that appears in the upper left corner and among the options that appear, select ‘Archived chats’.
When you are accessing your Messenger account through your website from your computer, the steps are just as simple. Being on the main screen of your account, look for the 3 horizontal points at the top of the screen, and there Choose the ‘Archived Chats’ option.
This is a process similar to the one we did previously to find and view all archived chats; and of course, each device may have a slightly different step.
Using the application on your Android or iPhone mobile, the steps are completely the same; The first thing is to enter your Messenger account. Once you are on the main screen, from ‘Chats’ at the top of the screen press ‘Search’ and In the search bar write the name of the user.
If you have installed the version of Messenger for computers, you will find the option to search on the screen at the top, and you just have to click there. In the same search bar that appears, place the name of the person you want to search for and when it appears, click on the chat.
Now, from the Messenger website itself, go to the option of ‘Search Messenger’ and in the search bar write the name of the contact. When it appears on the screen, click on it to be able to send it a new message in the same chat they had before.
If you want to recover a conversation that you have previously archived in your account, you can do so by following a couple of very simple steps as we have explained.
To recover a chat that has been archived from the application on your mobile, you must do the same procedure that we explained before to search for the specific chat. Once you select the chat and enter it and send a message, automatically the chat will go to the tray Messenger main.
From your computer the steps are the same; placing the name of the chat user you want to recover in the Messenger search engine. And in what you send the first message for that person all the messages, that is, this conversation will be retrieved and will go to the tray input.
These messages that are hidden in Messenger, that is to say that nwill never appear in your inbox Unless you accept them, they are kept in a separate folder.
This folder or option is found in Messenger as the requests for messages that come to you from people to whom you have not added on the Facebook platform. To find it you must click on the 3 horizontal points that are at the top of the platform in the option ‘Message requests’.
