I5-12600K benchmarks leaked on CPU-Z and AIDA64, showing the power of DDR5-6400 memory

The first tests of the Intel Core i5-12600K have just been filtered, revealing its performance in CPU-Z Single-Core and the performance of DDR5-6400 memories in AIDA64, showing a large increase in bandwidth compared to DDR4 memories. ,

Apparently in CPU-Z, the CPU effectively has 10 cores and 16 threads as indicated by the recent leaks, obtained through the sum of the 6 cores and 12 threads of the high-performance cores plus the 4 cores and 4 threads. of high efficiency that this CPU will have.

In this tool, the single-core benchmark was tested, where 785.6 points were obtained, marking a large increase of 22% compared to the 640 points obtained by its predecessor, the i5-11600K, and also surpassing the Ryzen 5 5600X by a large margin. which gets about 650 points.

The other test that was leaked, which is possibly even more interesting to many, is the AIDA64 memory test using DDR5-6400 memories, where a read bandwidth of 90138MB / s was obtained, a bandwidth of 88844MB / s write, and 77750MB / s copy bandwidth, crushing speeds versus DDR4.

For reference, DDR4 5000MHz memories, which are practically impossible to achieve, have read, copy and write bandwidths of 64335MB / s, 68540MB / s and 55808MB / s respectively, and 3200MHz memories are around 48000MB / s both in read and write, so the DDR5 improvements are impressive.

While bandwidth was significantly increased, latency was also significantly increased, which is something to be avoided. In this case, a latency of 92.5 ns was reached, while DDR4 memories tend to be around 60ns or even less, so this will be a point against this new standard, at least in the first models that will have high latencies.

The Alder Lake platform is expected to hit the market on November 19, so there are still more than two months to see complete tests with the final hardware and know the exact performance of this platform.
