IBM and Tata Communications take over Hedera platform

Technology giant IBM and Tata Communications, an Indian telecommunications company, have joined the board of the Hedera decentralized platform.

Hedera Hashgraph CEO Mance Harmon emphasized that with IBM and Tata, platform management will become even more decentralized.

“Our management model, which includes a robust system of checks and balances, makes it impossible to consolidate management in the same hands and at the same time provides a stable and scalable platform on which developers can create their applications,” said Harmon.

The Hedera Board of Directors includes up to 39 different international companies, and each board member cannot be a member of the Board for more than two consecutive three-year periods. The board removes the risks of creating platform forks and guarantees the availability of a code base.

“The members of the board of directors are the real owners of the company, they are not just advisers, they are Hedera. 39 companies own it, manage and make all decisions, ”said Leemon Baird, co-founder and chief research officer at Hedera.

IBM recently patented
blockchain-based web browser. The browser collects a predefined list of data during web browsing sessions. The information is then transferred to a P2P network for recording and storage.
